Position Summary
Reporting through Bridgestone America’s (BSAM) Corporate EHSS (Environmental, Health, Safety and Sustainability) Group, this position will be based in Lake Charles, LA. The primary responsibility of this position will be to interact with multiple departments within Firestone Polymers (FSPC) to ensure that all environmental regulatory requirements are met. The position will be heavily focused on compliance and environmental engineering and will have one direct report.

Responsibilities
Position responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:
Support all Bridgestone Corporate EHSS initiatives, implement Corporate EHSS requirements, and participate in environmental working groups as directed.
Supervise the Environmental Technician and ensure all LDAR requirements and ISO 14001 auditing and corrective action obligations are met.
Establish environmental KPIs and implement a robust compliance assurance program to ensure that all Consent Decree regulatory requirements are met.
Manage all aspects of the Consent Decree recordkeeping and reporting requirements.
Serve as the primary point of contact for all air-related regulatory federal and state inspections.
Interface with maintenance and operations to ensure that all pollution control equipment and generators are compliant; provide training to operations and maintenance personnel to promote compliance.
Assist in developing air permit applications that demonstrates compliance with federal and state requirements while maximizing FSPC’s operational flexibility.
Calculate emissions and identify opportunities to reduce emissions (e.g., VOC, CO2 etc.)
Gather and compile data required for records and reports such as Title V deviation reports, semi-annual MACT reports, semi-annual NSPS Db reports, EPCRA TRI reports, GHG reports and annual emission inventories.
Schedule stack testing and relative accuracy test audits on boilers.
Review MOC’s for environmental compliance.
Serve in a cross-functional capacity with FSPC’s safety department by participating in required Process Safety Management and Risk Management activities.
Review, update and approve emergency management procedures as applicable.
Provide on call support for the plant; participate in EHSS plant walk-throughs and PSSR’s.
Attend and participate in meetings, conferences, and seminars for legal and environmental issues.
Perform other duties as directed (SPCC compliance assistance etc.)
Minimum Qualifications
Typically requires a minimum of 5 years of related experience with a bachelor’s degree.
