As a Certified Sterile Processing Technician, you will perform and serve as a resource for decontamination, inspection, assembly and sterilization of all surgical instrumentation. You will be responsible for:
Troubleshooting equipment or product failure.
Performing in the role as well as monitoring others in preparing complex case cart functions.
Receiving and stocking inventory.
Leading the daily activities of assigned SPD team or department, including assigning resources, corrective action and assistance with performance reviews, in the absence of a supervisor.

Responsibilities:
Provides technical expertise for all customers, internal and external.
Troubleshoots all processing equipment problems, including washers, sonics, endo processors, cart washers, sterilizers and the instrument tracking system.
Seeks ways to eliminate errors, reduce turnaround time, maintain work-flow and improve customer service.
Follows department standards when processing equipment, instrumentation, and chemicals.
Performs preventative maintenance on instrumentation.
Observes personal protective equipment standards in decontamination process.
Demonstrates use of Process Improvement Standards (PIS) techniques and philosophies.
Performs all Certified Technician duties as outlined in job description.
Monitors and controls supplies and equipment, resolves any related issues.
Demonstrates an understanding of the proper handling of equipment, instrumentation, and chemicals.
Performs preventative maintenance on instruments and equipment.
Observes personal protective equipment standards in decontamination process.
Directs the activities of the SPD staff.
Assists with performance reviews and corrective action for assigned employees.
Reviews shift reports to ensure adequate resources are available.
Uses the department's instrument and productivity tracking program to maintain accurate records regarding sterilization and set assembly count-sheets.
Other duties as assigned.
Education:
HS diploma or equivalent GED required.Certifications:
Sterile Processing Distribution certification(CRCST) by IAHCSMM or CBSPD required.Complexity of Work:
Within scope of job, requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision.
Must be able to work in a stressful environment.
Work Experience:
Minimum one year experience as a sterile processing , central service, and/or operating room technician required.Physical Requirements:
Lifts and carries items weighing up to 25 pounds and ability to push, pull and navigate supply carts weighing >than 75 pounds.Personal Protective Equipment:
