POSITION SUMMARY:

The Lead Barista gives daily direction to the employees in their department to include but not limited to; high engagement customer service, drink preparation, proper food handling, marketing creation and presentation, inventory control, driving engagement to exceed sales goals through punch cards and legendary service practices, stocking, and customer service activities.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

Supports store in meeting department goals in Sales, Inventory, Shrink, and Payroll.

Provides daily direction to staff and prepares task list.

Creates recipes and keeps current recipes current and organized.

Oversees department product orders preventing Out of Stocks.

Research sources of products to keep cost competitive and maximize margins.

Adjusts pricing on products as needed.

Schedules and hosts weekly department meetings and provides weekly notes to management.

Works with Director of Purchasing when ordering to protect department budget and cost.

Follows market trends to grow sales in department.

Acquires and maintains Safe Serve certification.

Ensures Health Department guidelines are followed.

Works with marketing to promote new products.

EXPERIENCE/QUALIFICATIONS:

Experience: Experience with food preparation/handling in customer service environment.KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITY:

Knowledge of cash handling and budgets.

Excellent organizational skills and attention to details

Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Experience in a customer service environment.

Excellent self-motivation and initiative while unsupervised.

Strong in customer service and engagement skills

Adaptability to new processes and procedures.

Ability to maintain a clean and neat workspace.

Ability to teach and train, set goals, and provide direction to team.

TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS:

Minimal to attend trainings and meetings as needed.PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

Regular standing and lifting to 50lbs

Occasional computer work and walking

INDEPENDENT JUDGEMENT :

Performs tasks and duties under general supervision, using established procedures and innovation. Chooses from limited alternatives to resolve problems.
