Position Summary Details
The Janitorial Lead main responsibility will be managing a staff of janitors at an industrial steel mill location in the Burns Harbor, IN area.
Essential Functions
Employee is responsible for the direct oversight of an assigned team and on a designated shift. Employee is further responsible for ensuring that productivity levels and customer service requirements are being met and that front-line employees are complying with all safety, quality, and compliance standards established by the Company, by our Clients, and by regulatory authorities.
Clock yourself in and out.
Fills in for open spots as needed and may fulfill other duties, as they may be assigned.
Listens to and effectively communication with direct reports, client representative and team members.
Conduct beginning Safety Tool Box daily.
Conducts daily, weekly & monthly facility inspections making appropriate observations and provides feedback to Project Manager.
Attend monthly Supervisor Training at the ABM office or other designated areas.
Complete all timesheets and must be sent to Payroll by 9:00 am.
Complete all reviews in a timely manner.
All incoming supervisors must be here 15 minutes before the beginning of their shift and outgoing supervisors can stay up to 10 minutes after their shift ends. This will allow for turnovers and time to complete any unfinished duties.
Interact 1 on 1 with employees coaching, counseling, mentoring and building relationships, this includes all NAS leaders and operators. This needs to be documented on the employee engagement log and turned in on Friday.
As a Supervisor it is your responsibility to maintain your ABM phone and email to ensure they both are working properly and updated.
Maintains and coordinates schedules for daily absents.
Maintains safety awareness and is responsible for maintaining an acceptable safety record.
Investigates and resolves team member concerns and complaints, and provides appropriate follow up and internal documentation.
All accident and incident reports must be filled out completely.
All supervisors should be spending 90% of your shift on the floor preventing and changing bad behavior.
Complete all inspections on side by sides.
Must have strong communication skills with an emphasis on observation and listening with the ability to anticipate client needs and provide proactive solutions to ensure exceptional customer service.
Must be over 18 years old, and have a valid driver's license to fulfill this position.
MUST HAVE PREVIOUS SUPERVISOR EXPERIENCE

Must be 18 years of age or older
Must meet all requirements to receive approval for working in specific ATS environments (if applicable), including ten-year work history if available
