Program Summary
KBR leads the government services world contingency market by providing responsive, full-service logistics support to forces deployed around the world under the Logistics Civil Augmentation Program contract (LOGCAP). KBR’s enduring mission support of the LOGCAP program dates to 1992 when we served as the contract’s original prime contractor. Job Summary
The Materials Specialist Senior plays a crucial role in overseeing production control, inventory control, and the shipping and receiving of materials. This position involves meticulous inspection of parts and materials for damage, verification of quantity, part number, and serial numbers of shipped items, and the preparation of detailed status reports. Working under general supervision, the Materials Specialist Senior addresses complex problems using in-depth knowledge of the field and industry best practices. This role requires the application of experience and problem-solving skills to enhance processes. The individual in this role will offer supervision and guidance, effectively prioritizing and delegating tasks to team members to ensure the timely completion of daily responsibilities.
Roles and Responsibilities
Administer production control processes to optimize efficiency and output.
Conduct thorough inspections of parts and materials to identify and address any damage or discrepancies.
Verify the quantity, part number, and serial number of shipped items.
Oversee the shipping and receiving of materials, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
Record and maintain comprehensive status reports for requested and received items.
Solve complex problems using detailed knowledge of the field and industry best practices.
Utilize experience and problem-solving skills to develop and implement process improvements.
Collaborate effectively with team members to achieve common goals and objectives.
Provide guidance and mentorship to less experienced team members when necessary.
Basic Qualifications (Required Education, Experience, Skills, and Certifications)
Bachelor’s Degree in a relevant field. An additional 4 years of directly related experience can be considered in lieu of a degree.
Minimum of 5 years of hands-on experience in materials management, production control, or a related field.
In-depth knowledge of industry best practices related to materials handling and inventory control.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to address complex issues.
Excellent organizational and communication skills.
Demonstrated ability to work under general supervision and independently.
