　　WSP is initiating a search for a Part-Time or Full-Time Las Vegas Traffic Engineering Lead in our Las Vegas, Nevada office. . Be involved in projects with our Pacific Mountain West Traffic & Transportation Team and be a part of a growing organization that meets our client's objectives and solves their challenges.

　　WSP is seeking an experienced Traffic Engineer that is innovative, results-oriented, and team focused. The Traffic Engineering Lead will bring leadership and skills to oversee project delivery and staff development and provide technical assistance and guidance in engineering and design for our local, state and regional clients. While the focus of this position is traffic design, candidates will also have opportunities to support and lead traffic operations analysis tasks in our blended traffic design and operations team.

　　Foster development and mentoring of staff.

　　Provide traffic engineering technical expertise on projects.

　　Lead tasks on multi-disciplinary projects.

　　Facilitate workload balance and work-sharing opportunities.

　　Assure that engineering services lead the industry in professional standards, client requirements, budget controls, cost control, quality control, and project objectives.

　　Collaborate with business unit leads in all disciplines to assist with business development opportunities and to ensure excellence in overall project delivery.

　　Leverage client relationships to cross-sell services of WSP.

　　Participate in professional societies and conference programs including committees, panels, papers, and presentations.

　　Manage and provide performance guidance and leadership to assigned staff.

　　Remain current in latest traffic engineering techniques and practices.

　　Exercise responsible and ethical decision-making regarding company funds, resources and conduct, and adhere to WSP’s Code of Conduct and related policies and procedures.

　　Perform additional responsibilities as required by business needs.

　　Who You Are

　　Required Qualifications

　　Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, or closely related discipline.

　　12+ years of relevant post education experience in traffic engineering and design, including preparing construction drawings for traffic signal system, signing/channelization, intelligent transportation systems, work zone traffic control, and illumination systems.

　　Engineer license required (multi-state preferred).

　　Advanced knowledge and experience with DOT advisory circulars and procedures.

　　Advanced proficiency with traffic engineering principles, practices, process, design/build, operational analyses, standard of care, and the application to DOT approvals, permitting, and project work-related issues.

　　Staff management experience.

　　Project management experience.

　　Highly proficient with making technical computations and calculations involving the application of engineering principles, understanding plans and specifications, and making factual comparisons to the appropriate regulations.

　　Experience with planning and conducting inspections and investigations on various aspects of the construction and design of transportation corridors, applying applicable regulations and policies.

　　Highly effective interpersonal and communication skills, expressing intricate ideas effectively and professionally to an engineering and non-engineering audience.

　　Works independently and provides guidance and leadership to mid-level to senior level team or project members, with strict adherence to QA/QC.

　　Excellent leadership and interpersonal communication skills with the ability to effectively, persuasively, and tactfully interact with employees at all levels of the organization.

　　Tactical lateral thinking and strong analytical skills with attention to detail and prioritization of responsibilities in a pressure work environment.

　　Ability to elicit cooperation from a wide variety of sources, including senior management, clients, regulators, and company-wide staff, including those with whom no formal hierarchical relationship exits.

　　Proven track record of upholding workplace safety and ability to abide by WSP’s health, safety and drug/alcohol and harassment policies.

　　Strong ability to quickly adapt to change and demonstrate flexibility to a variety of schedules and hours to meet business needs.

　　Occasional travel may be required depending on project-specific requirements.

　　Preferred Qualifications

　　Master’s Degree in Engineering.

　　4+ years supervisory experience

　　PTOE certification

　　PTP certification

　　Proficiency with technical writing, office automation, AutoCAD, Microstation, or similar software, technology, spreadsheets, and tools.

　　Experience with roadway planning, design, and program/construction management; including project involvement in a variety of larger and more complex infrastructure projects, rehabilitation and construction/reconstruction of pavements, routes, navigational aids, grading design, and safety management.

　　Demonstrated effectiveness at coordinating and directing subconsultants and others to consistently complete tasks efficiently.

　　Substantial project experience with Nevada DOT, Clark County, City of Las Vegas, and City of North Las Vegas.

　　Active in local and/or national professional societies.
