  Trowbridge Wolf Michaels, a Fisher Associates Landscape Architecture Design Studio, is seeking an experiencedLandscape Architect or Designerto join the team!

  Fisher Associates, P.E., L.S., L.A., D.P.C. is a consulting engineering and professional services firm serving the Transportation, Land Development and Energy market sectors. Our comprehensive services include landscape architecture, planning, engineering, environmental, survey, GIS and construction representation.

  Essential Functions

  Establish and maintain strong client relationships adhering to the Fisher Clientship philosophy.

  Formulate original concepts.

  Direct staff through design.

  Interact and solve problems with clients and/or related design professionals.

  Conduct meetings with architectural and A/E teams, clients and public forums.

  Coordinate project team to execute design, production, and construction of small and mid-size projects.

  Responsible for project fee, budgets, and production scheduling.

  Work around constraining factors such as municipal planning legislation, environmental impact and project budget.

  Prepare materials for planning approvals/permits as appropriate and interact positively with governmental building, planning and legal departments.

  Present at regulatory review meetings when necessary.

  Participate in construction administration, typically under the direction/guidance of an experienced colleague.

  Travel regularly to building sites, proposed locations and client meetings.

  Write and present reports, proposals, applications and contracts.

  Support marketing and business development effort of the firm.

  Conduct product research and selection of appropriate materials for use on projects.

  Integrate and coordinate design requirements with other disciplines.

  Demonstrate an understanding of ADA regulations and appropriate implementation.

  Research and develop design and product solutions and present them for consideration.

  Develop high-quality renderings over several platforms.

  Prepare drawings/models from rough sketches or from existing design information (verbal instructions and notes).

  Revise or change drawings, traces and/or copy existing drawings and complete simple calculations with specific instructions.

  Participate in team meetings to coordinate design options and ideas.

  Maintain neat and orderly work files, which will allow access to project information by other team members.

  More experienced Licensed Landscape Architects (RLA) would also:

  Possess competent knowledge of principles and techniques of personnel supervision.

  Possess reasonable knowledge of related architecture/engineering disciplines.

  Initiate and monitor correspondence with agencies on large and complex projects.

  Initiate and monitor consultant relationships on large and complex projects.

  Initiate project setup, programming, initial budgets on large and complex projects.

  Specification editing (with assistance from team).

  Express a holistic understanding of zoning, code, budget and place as intuitive drivers of the design process with a trusted ability to efficiently perform a thorough code review on any project.

  Prepare and present fee proposals to clients on large and complex projects.

  Manage and coordinate with contractors and other professionals on large and complex projects.

  Be involved with business development, bringing new work to the firm through existing clients.

  Take a leadership role in proposal writing.

  Requirements

  Education & Experience

  Minimum 5+ years of landscape architecture related experience

  Registered Landscape Architect (RLA) preferred but not required.

  Bachelor of Landscape Architecture (BLA) required.

  MLA or MS Landscape Architecture preferred.

  Physical Demands & Work Environment

  Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.

  Must be able to lift to 15 pounds at a time.

  Must be able to travel to various project sites.

  Must be able to access and navigate construction sites and job areas.

  Ability to transverse uneven grounds

  Environmental Conditions: Office environment, field environment, construction site environment; exposure to dust, noise, grease, smoke, fumes, gases, heat, cold, and inclement weather conditions when working in the field.

  Salary Range:$70,000 - $90,000 annually

  Actual compensation may vary based on relevant experience, qualifications/education, and other factors. The salary range is not necessarily reflective of the actual total compensation that may be earned nor promises any specific pay for any specific employee. Salary range excludes monetary value of benefits.
