Job Title: Laboratory Technician (Food)
Location: Hunt Valley, MD
Start Date: Immediate
Payrate: $20 an hr.
Shift: 8AM-5PM, Monday-Friday
Responsibilities:
Capable of using all senses required for the evaluation of food and beverage products e.g. Aroma, flavor, color perception etc.
Prepares and executes product quality sensory evaluation on Sensory Samples. Which includes preparation of products, conducting sensory panels, data collection and data reporting/release.
Executes Sensory shelf life studies of finished seasonings
Receiving shipment samples from internal stakeholders
Shipping samples to plants
Maintain and manage controls/references for sensory evaluation
Maintain lab stock and supplies and assist in maintain company determined standards
Maintain seasoning database, data management and data entry
Documents and files sensory data
Disposal of seasonings production samples and storage of samples
Assist in preparation and evaluation of sensory samples
Assist in training of sensory panelists
Assist in customer complaint and corrective action
Assist in ensuring a clean and safe working environment
Minimum Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in Biology or a related field preferred or Associate degree
2 years of experience in a lab strongly preferred, or a sharp recent grad.
Good communications skills both writing and verbal
Ability to use basic equipment in sensory labs i.e. scales, thermometers, hotplates etc.
