PositionOverview The Laboratory Service Engineer I (LSE I) is responsible forthe Instrument and Automation Services of laboratory equipment andinstrumentation, including installation, calibration, maintenance, andrepair. This includes both simple (e.g., orbital shakers) and complex(e.g., liquid handling robotics.) instrumentation in the variouslaboratory environments. These environments may include clinicallaboratories, R&D laboratories, and manufacturing and quality controllaboratories. The individual in this role will continuously work withother Lab Service Engineers (LSE) and the laboratory teams to ensureproper instrument function and to troubleshoot any system concerns. TheLSE I may work continuously with other LSEs and the laboratory teams toensure proper instrument function and to troubleshoot any systemconcerns. Essential Duties include but are not limited to the following:Install new laboratory equipment (e.g., centrifuges, liquid handlers,orbital shakers, etc.). Coordinate and/or perform instrumentinstallations and qualifications per service policies. Maintain programfor preventative maintenance (PM) and calibration of all laboratoryequipment. Perform troubleshooting activities and provide Level 1service; coordinate with LSE II\'s and vendors to address escalatedservice concerns. Recommend and implement changes to ensure ongoinghigh-quality performance of laboratory equipment. Perform all serviceactivities in compliance with all relevant safety and regulatory bodies(e.g., OSHA, CAP, CLIA, etc.). Maintain and continuously developpersonal knowledge and expertise related to the service of complexclinical laboratory equipment. Track all service activities utilizingsystem(s) developed in accordance with service policies and procedures.Ensure all service documentation is complete, timely, and accuratefollowing Good Documentation Practices (GDP).
