PositionOverview The LDT Laboratory Technician is responsible for performingstandard laboratory procedures within the assigneddepartment/laboratory. The Clinical Laboratory Technician will analyzedata and may assist with research and development. This incumbent willbe relied upon to follow laboratory protocols and maintain high qualitylevels. Essential Duties Include, but are not limited to, the following:Perform laboratory tests, procedures, and analyses according to thelaboratory\'s standard operating procedures which may include, but arenot limited to; Prepare samples for PCR, Sanger sequencing, or othertesting methodologies; Order, prepare, maintain DNA oligo primers;Analysis and scoring of sequence results; Maintain validation recordsand related databases; Ability to investigate validation discrepancies;Contribute to active SOP maintenance. Perform research and developmentof new tests and clinical assays; Develop Sanger assays of lowercomplexity (no significant paralogy or conversion); Develop geneticassays using other established testing platforms. Assist with NGSverifications and validations. Contribute to workflow efficiency gainsexercises and assist with troubleshooting assays. Meet productivity andTAT expectations. Maintain a high level of quality in test processes andresults. Ability to identify problems, notify supervisors and describecircumstance or contributing factors. Achieves and maintains competencyon required laboratory tasks. Ability to comply with any applicablepersonal protective equipment and safety requirements. Support andcomply with the company\'s Quality Management System policies andprocedures. Understand the various laboratory equipment and reagentsused within assigned department. Ability to use various types oflaboratory equipment; including centrifuges, thermal cyclers, vortexersand pipettes for extended periods of time. Receive and satisfactorilycomplete basic training on laboratory software and programs. Maintain aclean work area in accordance with standard laboratory practice...
