Position Summary
The Laboratory Coordinator plays a crucial role in overseeing daily laboratory operations, with a focus on managing experiments, handling biosamples, and maintaining the biobank.
Responsibilities
Maintain the biobank, including the upkeep of fridges and freezers, organizing biosamples, tracking biosample information, processing project submissions, and ensuring overall organizational efficiency.Organize and account for various human samples such as DNA, RNA, blood, urine, and tissue. Catalog sample locations across different sample types and databases, regularly report sample numbers based on different criteria, and distribute biosamples to lab members for research studies.Conduct standard molecular and cell biology experiments, encompassing DNA/RNA extractions, cell culture, cloning, transfection, mutagenesis, PCR, siRNA knockdown, CRISPR/Cas9, ELISA, western blot, and single cell/single nuclei isolation for sequencing.Perform basic mouse colony maintenance and conduct fundamental mouse procedures.Collaborate closely with Principal Investigators, lab members, and other researchers to ensure the adequacy and efficiency of the biobank.Perform additional related duties as needed.Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's degree or equivalent in training, and /or experience plus a minimum of three years related experience.Preferred Qualifications
Experience in bio-sample storage, barcoding, bio-bank workflows, and management.Other Requirements
