St. Vincent’s is the first hospital in Fairfield County to be integrated into the Hartford HealthCare network, and is the system’s second-largest hospital. _Job Description_ Under the direction of the Supervisor, the lab assistant is responsible for support functions, preanalytical processing, preparing specimens to send to appropriate reference laboratories, and accessioning/registration functions. Performance of waived and moderate complexity testing, inventory control and management, specimen storage and retrieval. Performs maintenance required by laboratory. * High School Graduate or equivalent * One(1) Year as a Medical or Lab Assistant or demonstrated experience in laboratory * Ability to comply with OSHA and applicable regulatory requirements by following established procedures in order to maintain a safe laboratory environment and to meet accreditation standards. * Ability to be flexible as required to adapt to laboratory needs as related to testing and scheduling. * Ability to operate a pneumatic tube system * We take great care of careers.
