As a Laboratory Technician, you will be responsible for specific laboratory specimens, orders, and information disposition. You will be performing and demonstrating an understanding of laboratory testing as well as technical and procedural problem solving. Working closely with our collaborative team, you will perform specimen investigation procedures to resolve lab specimen issues or problems.
Your primary duties will include but are not limited to:
Organizing, prioritizing and coordinating receipt and delivery of lab specimens.
Performing laboratory testing while following correct policies.
Performing cleanliness and preventative maintenance on instruments and equipment.
Properly preparing specimens for analysis, transport and distribution.

Currently is certified as a Medical Technologist (MT) or eligible preferred.

Responsibilities:
Evaluates validity of test results using quality control standards, instrumentation function checks, and/or department policies and procedures. Brings problems to attention of supervisor or lead medical technologist.
Initiates appropriate corrective action to alleviate any deficiencies of quality assurance standards or established specified limits.
Consistently coordinates all work with co-workers to achieve maximum productivity and efficiency during the assigned shift. Strives to be an effective and productive member of the institution.
Performs and documents preventive maintenance measures on department's equipment and instruments.
Provides general training to medical technology students and others in training and orientation.
Always shows an awareness of proper safety procedures.
Demonstrates a working knowledge and understanding of computer functions.
Assists in compiling various data, statistics and reports.
Assumes personal responsibility for on-going continuing education and professional development as required by job duties.
Completes all mandatory in-service programs required within stated time frame.
Coordinates prioritization, receipt and delivery of laboratory specimens.
Verifies accurate documentation relative to specimen processing.
Accepts or rejects specimens according to established standards and performs specimen investigation procedures to resolve lab specimen issues or problems.
Prepares specimens for analysis; aliquots, transports and distributes specimens.
Aids in proper reagent and chemical solution preparation, labeling and storage.
Maintains instrumentation and equipment along with its cleanliness.
Performs preventive maintenance and record keeping procedures.
Maintains appropriate workstation supplies and inventory.
Maintains patient, specimen and tracking data using laboratory computer system.

High school graduate with focus on chemical, physical, biological sciences or laboratory science.Certifications:
