This is a 9-monthposition with a split appointment with 50% lab management and 50%teaching. The 50% Laboratory Manager position is responsible forassisting faculty with inventorying and overseeing the use andmaintenance of items and equipment of the food science and technologyprogram. Equipment in the labs includes but is not limited to operationsin conventional PCR, Real Time PCR, protein/nucleic acid gelelectrophoresis units, Extrusion, Drying, Thermal Processing (retort),Pasteurization, Extraction, Centrifugation, Sensory Analysis; Analyticalequipment including Accelerated Solvent Extraction, Chromatography(Gas/High Performance Liquid); Mass Spectrometry; Spectroscopy (UV/Vis);Electrophoresis; Rheology (Instron/Viscometer), pH meter, Colorimetryand software associated with the various pieces of hardware above. Aspart of 50% lecturer position the individual is expected to teach foodscience related lab and theory courses such as food science, foodquality, food safety engineering, food plant design, etc. We are seekinga dynamic, creative individual with expertise in foodscience/engineering to assist us with the implementation of innovativefood science and technology undergraduate and graduate programs.
