　　JOB DUTIES:

　　Oversees the daily operation of the clinical laboratory. Problem solves,provides technical assistance to staff, and assigns workload toscheduled staff.

　　Performs various clinical laboratory tests, analyzes, and interpretstest results, and ensures accuracy.

　　Demonstrates in-depth knowledge of the policies and procedures forpatient preparation, sample requirements, specimen collection, andpre-analytical factors that affect sample quality.

　　Coordinates departmental activities such as quality control, stafftraining, and procedural updates.

　　Monitors timely receipt, handling, testing, and submission ofproficiency testing.

　　Organizes, updates, and monitors quality control, maintenance programs,and timely quality assurance activities

　　Assists the Lab Director with addressing employees\' failure to conformto facility performance and behavioral standards and cover absences asneeded.

　　Assists with data collection for the quality assurance program orspecial projects.

　　The Laboratory Lead Tech assumes other responsibilities as assigned.

　　JOB REQUIREMENTS:

　　Analytical ability to apply criteria and evaluate information to makedecisions

　　In-depth knowledge of laboratory operations

　　Strong verbal and written communication skills; and excellentinterpersonal skills in teaming with patients, medical staff, and thepublic

　　Detail oriented with proven ability to multi-task

　　Professional appearance and ease in developing rapport with others

　　Computer skills including MSOffice, Outlook, Meditech, preferred

　　Ability to work well in a team or independently, required

　　Advanced knowledge of biology and chemistry
