Lab Assistant I - Histology - Denver, CO - Monday-Friday
Performsvery basic functions to assist in the preparation of histopathologysamples.
Pay Range: $17.05 - $25.59 / hour
Salary offers are based on a wide range of factors including relevantskills, training, experience, education, and, where applicable,certifications obtained. Market and organizational factors are alsoconsidered. Successful candidates may be eligible to receive annualperformance bonus compensation.

Perform routine activities involved in the preparation of histopathologyslides under general supervision and according to policies and procedures.Receive/collect,labeland prepare tissue specimens for gross dissection.Process paperwork associated with accessioning and reporting.Monitor inventory,requisition supplies prior to depletion;stock andmaintain laboratory supplies.Clean,sterilize,organizeand maintain work area, glassware and laboratoryequipment (e.g., refrigerators, freezers, andsupply cabinets, as needed).Perform coverslipping of stained slides both manually and automated.Responsible for all assigned clerical duties.Comply with all health, qualityand safety policies,proceduresandpractices. Required to use personal protective equipment.Other duties as assigned. QUALIFICATIONSRequired WorkExperience:N/APreferred Work Experience:One (1) year of previous histopathology or otherlaboratory experienceand/or training preferred.Physical and Mental Requirements:
The normal performance of duties may require lifting and carrying objects:Objects 1 to 10 pounds are lifted and carried frequently; objects 11 to 25pounds are lifted and carried occasionally; objects 36 to 50 pounds areseldom lifted or carried and objects over 50 pounds are not to be lifted orcarried without assistance.
Ability to stand and work at the bench for long periods of time.
Frequent walking and/or standing.
May be required to use a wide variety oflaboratory instruments and apparatusesall of whichdemand significantmanual dexterity.Knowledge:
Basic knowledge of operating non-complex instrumentation.Skills:
Must demonstrate the ability to follow a series of steps without confusion orerrors on an ongoing basis and retain the information once learned.
Must be detail-oriented,have the ability towork independently, establishwork priorities and to handle several tasks simultaneously for maximumdepartment efficiency.
Communication and interpersonal skills necessary to deal courteouslyandeffectively with supervisors,co-workersand clients.
Ability to deal with client information in a confidential manner.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word,Exceland Outlook) and LaboratoryInformation Systems.
Ability to enter 6,000 alphanumeric keystrokes/hour.
