Overview:

　　Under general supervision, the lab assistant will perform specimen processing, scan and record the specimen in the system. Job requires a

　　professional level of knowledge, as well as the ability to analyze and interpret tests independently, and communicate results clearly. The following

　　duties are characteristic of this classification. Overtime may be required as determined by workload.

　　Job Description:

　　Scan and record in computer that specimen arrives in lab and ensure is routed to correct part of department

　　Check tube type and label on tubes to ensure accuracy

　　Work with other technicians and medical technologists to ensure that most pressing samples are handled first

　　Answer phone calls from providers and other labs to make sure samples are being handled correctly

　　Qualifications:

　　Must possess a Bachelor’s degree in a chemical, physical, or biological science from an accredited college or university is preferred but not required

　　Reliability and strong work ethic is a must

　　Hours:
