About Kitchen Associate Cook

  Required: * 6 months demonstrated experience working in a restaurantkitchen setting * Accurately measure & weigh ingredients * Read &interpret written recipes, regulations, & instructions * Read &interpret safety rules, operating & maintenance instructions & proceduremanuals as related to the Food & Beverage department * Work as a teammember * Communicate both verbally & in writing, in a clear & precisemanner in order to convey information as well as obtain pertinentinformation * Stand for long period of time * Knowledge of variouscooking equipment & skilled in the application & use of equipment *Maintain confidentially of records & information pertinent to the natureof the work * Non-Indians must be at least 21 years of age, EnrolledIndians must be at least 18 years of age * Current Food Handler\'scertification * Submit to & clear an Alcohol/Drug Screen * Goodcommunication & interpersonal relationships skills * Pass Licensing bythe Klamath Tribes Gaming Regulatory Commission * Indian Preferencewill apply Preferred: * High School Diploma or equivalent * 1 yeardemonstrated experience working in a restaurant kitchen setting Summary:Reporting to the Kitchen Associate Lead or F& B Supervisor, the KitchenAssociate Cook is responsible for the accurate & timely preparation ofdaily menu items. The cook is also responsible for maintaining asanitary & orderly work area at all times in accordance with departmentrequirements. Major Duties & Responsibilities Include: 1. Responsiblefor the planning & preparation of selected menu items. 2. Adhere to allsanitary rules & regulations in the Food & Beverage Department. 3.Responsible for the cleanliness of work area during & after foodpreparation. 4. Create meals according to recipe & ensure the accuracyof the weights & measurements of ingredients. 5. Maintain a food log inorder to reduce/increase servings. 6. Responsible for requestingrequired ingredients for meal preparation to the Executive Chef. 7.Responsible for maintaining selected menu items on line in the Buffet.8. Assist with checking in stock & shelving in accordance withdepartment procedures. 9. Perform all required job duties in a timely &efficient manner. 10. cooperate fully with Food & Beverage team membersto ensure a helpful working environment & maintain professionalism inboth public view & in the kitchen area. 11. Responsible for assistingwith food prep or cleaning duties during slow business periods of theshift. 12. Maintain departmental & organizational confidentiality. 13.work as a team player & maintain a courteous & professional attitude atall times in order to insure a smooth & consistent level of efficientcustomer service. Additional Duties: * Adheres to standards for guestservice & confidentiality * Refers guest problems or complaints toappropriate supervisors * Reports & documents any observed or knownsafety hazard, conditions or unsafe practices & procedures * Performsother job-related duties as directed
