The WestRock Mississauga facility is looking for Kirk-Ruddy Operators to work with the Finishing team. This position reports to the Lead Hand and is responsible for performing general hand and table work including loading, taking off and packing of finishing machines, operating small finishing machine and performing periodic quality checks.
How you will impact WestRock:
Feed product from KR224DM Shuttle Feeder with double detect.
Transfer onto a KR519 Base. Read the 1D barcode on product to verify SKU# and to start the number sequence from the beginning or where it left off in the database. The SKU# changes based on the cutting of the printed sheets. The database will contain all SKU#’s and the sequence count. SKU’s will verify during the job. (Custom Software with MPS provided DLL)
Inkjet a 5/16" 2D Data-matrix code and human readable number and SKU in one place with a NetJet System, verify with KR Camera and dry and track product to next inkjet for printing matching barcode and human readable and SKU.
Transfer onto a KR480L and turnover the product 180 degrees.
Transfer onto a KR519 with infeed registration table and Inkjet print the same information on the opposite side, verify barcode with KR Camera and with a KR882 IR dryer.
If bad read, then track, and divert with a KR837VL divert.
Transfer onto a KR314S Shingle conveyor for sorting.
Able to make machine adjustments in order to maintain machine at safety, quality and production standards.
Use and wear all protective devices/clothing as requested, this includes ear plugs, safety shoes, safety glasses, gloves, and any food safety personal protective equipment (PPE)
Train new employees on all aspects of the job
Maintain a clean and safe work environment.
Performs minor maintenance and repairs on the small machines.
Read and follow directions on job tickets.
Continuously check for quality defects
Performs other duties as assigned.
What you need to succeed:
Must have 3-5 years of0020experience operating a Kirk-Ruddy machine.
Must have the ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals.
Must have the ability to count and measure.
Must have basic computer skills.
Must be able to maintain good attendance.
Must be willing to work overtime as needed; significant overtime may be required during busy periods.
Shift Schedule:
Ability to work days, afternoons or nights. Please see below the shift schedule.
• Day Shift (35 hours per week):
o Monday to Thursday, 7:30 AM to 3:00 PM
o Friday 7:30 AM to 12:30 PM
• Afternoon Shift (35 hours per week):
o Monday to Thursday, 3:00 PM to 10:30 PM
o Friday 12:30 PM to 5:30 PM
• Night Shift (36 hours per week):
o Monday to Thursday, 10:30 PM to 7:30 AM
o Off on Fridays
