We are looking for a highly skilled and motivated individual to work as a full-time research professional for a period of one or two years. The start date is subject to negotiation but may be as early as June 1, 2024.

　　This position is ideal for someone who is planning to go to graduate school in economics, finance, or a related field. You will work with NYU Stern Professors Robert Engle (https://www.stern.nyu.edu/faculty/bio/robert-engle) (winner of the 2003 Nobel Prize in Economics), Johannes Stroebel (https://pages.stern.nyu.edu/jstroebe/index.html) , Richard Berner (https://www.stern.nyu.edu/faculty/bio/richard-berner) , and Viral Acharya (https://www.stern.nyu.edu/faculty/bio/viral-acharya) . You will work on a variety of projects that study the interactions between climate change, financial markets, and the broader economy. Many of the projects will involve extensive work with large data sets and the use of machine-learning tools. Preference will be given to candidates with prior experience in working with statistical software such as Stata, R, and Python. Experience with machine learning tools is also highly valued. The last three holders of this position have joined PhD programs at Harvard, Harvard Business School, and Berkeley.

　　In complicance with NYC's Pay Transparency Act, the annual base salary range for this position is $50,440 - $60,000. New York University considers factors such as (but not limited to) the specific grant funding and the terms of the research grant when extending an offer.

　　The ideal candidate will have:

　　a strong quantitative background;

　　strong programming skills (Stata, R, Python, and/or Matlab are a strong plus) as well as experience with machine learning tools;

　　an ability to work independently to solve problems;

　　a long-term interest in pursuing research in economics and or finance; and
