Junior Project Accountant

　　Assist Management with all financial operations. Project Accountant is responsible for the accurate and timely entry and reporting of data in the company financial systems. You will be responsible for: accounts receivable, subcontract management, accounts payable and month end. You will partner with management and project teams to ensure accuracy, timeliness, and completeness of data.

　　Essential Responsibilities

　　• Communicate reporting information and interpretations with leadership and clients.

　　• Influences the development and implementation of collective agreements.

　　• Record daily financial transactions in the accounting system.

　　• Investigate and resolve any discrepancies or issues.

　　• Coordinate the collection and submission of documentation required for invoicing.

　　• Collecting third party invoices to support client billings.

　　• Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and reports.

　　• Prepare progress billings, invoices, and holdback releases

　　• Assist in pursuing payment collection and work with client to resolve payment issues

　　• Extract employee’s hours from timesheets and process information for reports.

　　• Works with PM team to identify potential change orders

　　• Cost Analysis and Cost control

　　Qualifications

　　• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance.

　　• The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 3 years of experience.

　　• Know the Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)

　　• Must have Experience within commercial construction or a related industry is preferred.

　　• Working knowledge of construction accounting principles

　　• Experience with subcontract agreements and lien waivers highly preferred.

　　• Ability to create spreadsheets and financial projections.

　　• Strong analytical skills and problem solving

　　• Excellent verbal and written communication skills

　　• Strong computer skills in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and Outlook)

　　• Knowledge of AJERA software is a plus

　　• USA citizenship

　　Work Conditions

　　• This position requires you to attend the office in person and travel to the project site as business needs require.
