LinQuest Corporation is seeking a Junior Operations Research Analyst / AFSIM Modeler to join our team in supporting the Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA) onsite in Reston, Virginia. The applicant will contribute to an exciting project to advance Department of Defense (DoD) capability to conduct mission-level modeling, simulation, and analysis (MS&A) of complex, adaptive kill webs.
The selected individual will serve on a broader multi-disciplinary team of operational military and intelligence community subject matter experts, operations research analysts, and modelers conducting sponsor-directed studies and analyses using an environment and MS&A tool being developed by DARPA. The applicant will support study-specific integrated product teams comprised of government and partner stakeholders. Applicant must be able to understand and develop an experiment design approach, identify key metrics for simulation output, analyze results, generate visualizations and insights, and present findings to senior DoD leaders.
Required Skills & Experience:
Bachelor’s degree in Operations Research, Applied Mathematics, Probability, Statistics, or other related technical degree requiring substantial competence in college-level mathematics or statistics to include calculus, plus 5 years of experience (A Masters degree in an aforementioned field may substitute 2 years of experience).
Proficiency in data analysis tools such as Python, JupyterLab, R, and/or Anaconda, etc.
Ability to think creatively and function as part of a high-performing team
Experience developing and implementing simulation models to inform executive decision-making
Excellent oral and written communications skills
US citizenship and an active DoD Top Secret clearance with current SCI eligibility
Eligible for Special Access Program (SAP) access
Preferred Skills & Experience:
Familiarity with Design of Experiments and Data Mining/Seeding techniques
Capable, working level knowledge of AFSIM, to include behavior modeling
Familiarity with NGTS, ITASE, or other mission-level modeling and simulation (M&S) environment, to include behavior modeling
Knowledge/experience in modeling, simulation, and analysis (MS&A) of Joint warfighting capabilities, advanced weapons, current and future operational concepts
Active DoD Top Secret clearance with active SCI within the last 12 months
