Qualifications:
High School Diploma or equivalent w/minimum 2 yrs. exp in comp employment.Be able to provide own transport.Summary:Job coach will support & assist individuals' w/disabilities in process of exploring, experiencing, seeking, securing, and retaining employment. Job Coaches will assess skills and ability to work.
The Job Coach position is responsible for but not limited to the following:
Evaluate the potential work sites to gain information regarding the social requirements, work schedule, tasks, safety procedures and what is necessary for individual to be successful at site.Acclimate individuals regarding the work site and safety precautions. Train individuals in tasks. Use coaching strategies to help with skill acquisition while focusing on independence.Ensure the well-being and safety of all individuals served.Travel training skills to and from community-based work locations.Document services provided in compliance with agency, local, state, and federal regulations.Attend team meetings, professional development opportunities and parent conferences.Act as liaison between the individual, employer, families, the organization, and the community.Job may include, but not be limited to, the following: bending, stooping, lifting up to 10 poundsJob includes, at times, extensive walking.Frequent location changes and movement between different community-based work settings; staff may have to be at 3 to 4 different locations in one work shift.
