System Support Specialist
Seize your opportunity to make a personal impact as a System Support Specialist supporting the Joint Base Elmendorf-Richardson Alaska Mission Training Complex (JBER MTC) GDIT is your place to make meaningful contributions to challenging projects and grow a rewarding career.
The 11th ABN DIV (ARCTIC) MTCCS provides individual, crew, and collective training using a variety of digital tools and Army fielded systems. These systems are used to provide individual training at the soldier level as well as the planning and execution of simulated combat exercise scenarios to support crew and collective training up to the Division level. These simulated training exercises are supported by the facilities digital and communications architecture to provide realistic and challenging scenarios ranging from Stability Operations to Large Scale Combat Operations (LSCO).
HOW THE SYSTEM SUPPORT SPECIALIST WILL MAKE AN IMPACT:
Responsible for performing system management and system administration functions, supporting a distributed computing environment consisting of military simulations systems, Mission Command Information Systems (MCIS) and administrative systems, in order to support tailored unit digital MCS training requirements for military units ranging from battalion to brigade.
Monitors and responds to hardware and software problems utilizing a variety of hardware and software testing tools and techniques.
Installs and configures applications software and related hardware (such as desktops, servers, and related peripherals like printers, scanners, drives, monitors and video teleconferencing hardware).
Utilizes Assured Compliance Assessment System (ACAS) and Host-Based Security System (HBSS) to scan and monitor system security.
Performs Security Technical Implementation Guide (STIG) checklist tasks.
Participates in Risk Management Framework (RMF) roles as assigned.
Performs other tasks as assigned.
Maintains current knowledge of relevant technologies as assigned.
WHAT YOU’LL NEED TO EXCEED
Education: AA/AS in a related technical discipline, or the equivalent combination of education, technical certifications or training, or work experience.
Required Experience: 5+ years of relative work experience
Required Technical Skills:
Comprehensive knowledge of the principles, methods, and techniques used in information system troubleshooting and support.
Comprehensive knowledge of related hardware and software.
Security Clearance Level: Secret with the ability to obtain a Top Secret
Required Certification(s):
IAT II Baseline Certification Comp TIA Sec+ CE or equivalent
Computing Environment Certification: MCSA Windows 10
