  Job Summary:

  As a Ground System Software Engineer with the Mission Management and Command & Control (M2C2) team, you have the opportunity to directly impact the world around you and contribute to classified programs and technologies you are passionate about. Our small agile teams adapt to evolving customer and warfighter needs.

  Responsibilities to Anticipate:

  Develop software for cutting edge satellite ground systems with space network ground segments and users around the world

  Have a direct impact on the operation of new state of the art satellites that perform intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance for multiple customers.

  Experience with the full software lifecycle including design, development, test, delivery, and maintenance

  Exposure to various technologies and techniques including Multi-Tiered Architectures, Amazon Web Services, Geospatial Visualization Tools, Digital Engineering, and Automation Frameworks that support advanced spacecraft missions

  Work with modern DevSecOps development practices and utilize Agile processes

  Basic Qualifications:

  Typically requires Bachelor’s degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and 2 years of software engineering experience.

  Experience implementing software using Java

  Experience implementing software using C++

  Active and transferable Top Secret U.S. government issued security clearance is required prior to start date. The ability to obtain and maintain a TS/SCI clearance is required. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance

  Preferred Qualifications:

  Understanding of Software Engineering processes and best practices.

  Proficiency in object-oriented analysis and design

  Experience with Agile development

  Experience working within LINUX/UNIX operating systems

  Experience working with applications in the AWS Cloud

  Experience with microservices using Docker and Kubernetes

  Experience with DevOps and Continuous Integration/Continuous Development

  Experience with one or more areas of satellite ground system software such as mission management, planning and scheduling, command and telemetry, satellite operations, or flight dynamics models.

  The salary range for this role is 64,000 USD - 128,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.

  Hired applicants may be eligible for benefits, including but not limited to, medical, dental, vision, life insurance, short-term disability, long-term disability, 401(k) match, flexible spending accounts, flexible work schedules, employee assistance program, Employee Scholar Program, parental leave, paid time off, and holidays. Specific benefits are dependent upon the specific business unit as well as whether or not the position is covered by a collective-bargaining agreement.

  Hired applicants may be eligible for annual short-term and/or long-term incentive compensation programs depending on the level of the position and whether or not it is covered by a collective-bargaining agreement. Payments under these annual programs are not guaranteed and are dependent upon a variety of factors including, but not limited to, individual performance, business unit performance, and/or the company’s performance.

  This role is a U.S.-based role. If the successful candidate resides in a U.S. territory, the appropriate pay structure and benefits will apply.
