IT Software Development Supervisor Location: Irving, TX/Remote Duration: 11 months with possible contract to hire Description: Education Level: High School Graduate/GED Manager's Notes: Experience leading a team of intermediate or senior development resources to provide successful project delivery and an efficient and effective operating environment. Experience working with various SDLC methodologies and cross-functional teams (Application Owners; Architects; Developers; Business Leadership; Business Analysts). Strong understanding of data warehousing concepts, data modeling, ETL processes, query design in Oracle/SQL/HANA, and report development. Strong knowledge of SAP Business Objects systems, including Universe design, implementation, customization, and system architecture, as well as knowledge of SAP best practices and methodologies. Ability to communicate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders. Strong project management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks, manage timelines, and deliver high-quality results. Experience working in a cross-functional environment, collaborating with business stakeholders, IT teams, and vendors. Strong communication and collaboration skills with a track record of taking solution ownership. Must be able to pay close attention to complex detail and understand written and oral instructions. Primary Purpose: To oversee the day-to-day activities of software developers or support teams; to oversee quality assurance reviews; to ensure project completion and user satisfaction; and to provide guidance and training to assigned team. Essential Functions and Responsibilities: Oversees development or support of system specifications through interaction with business users, IT project managers, program managers and IT programming staff. Oversees design, development, maintenance, testing and debugging of software development code, FTP file transmission and job scheduling tasks. Assists in projecting software and hardware score, requirements, costs and general software project management. Oversees the work of software developers, project managers and system analysts as needed to manage the software development life cycle. Provides guidance and training to team. Prepares status reports to department manager. Ensures successful completion of projects in conformance to project goals and requirements; ensures projects are in conformance with company policies and procedures. Ensures proactive and cooperative relationships exist within the project team; remains accessible to project team members. Keeps up-to-date with technology changes and direction. Supervisory Responsibilities: Administers company personnel policies in all areas and follows company staffing standards and training recommendations. Interviews, hires and establishes colleague performance development plans; conducts colleague performance discussions. Provides support, guidance, leadership and motivation to promote maximum performance. Qualifications: Education & Licensing: Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university preferred. Information Systems or Computer Science major preferred. Experience: Eight (8) years of related experience or equivalent combination of education and experience required to include five (5) years of Senior Software Development experience and three (3) years of specialized programming relative to program needs.
