CAS is seeking an experienced IT professional who is organized, self-motivated, with a positive outlook who can help CAS provide excellent IT customer support services while helping develop and implement new technologies and procedures that ensure we are following state, university, and college policies.This position is responsible for providing technical support, design, analysis, consultation, installation, and user education for the following: operating systems, computer hardware, networking infrastructure, network servers, file services, and commonly used application software. This position also coordinates software installations and changes and assists with the support and administration of end-point systems including imaging, inventory, and backup. Most tasks are performed independently and requires decision making while also working collaboratively with entire CAS IT team.Required Qualifications:• A Bachelor's degree and three (3) years professional IT experience OR a combination of education and experience totaling seven (7) years from which comparable knowledge and abilities are acquired.• Demonstrated knowledge of Windows operating systems.• Demonstrated knowledge of macOS and Linux operating systems.• Demonstrated experience and ability to work with a team to provide technical customer support.Preferred Qualifications:• Experience working in a university environment.• Demonstrated experience working with helpdesk/service desk ticketing systems.• The ability to manage multiple concurrent projects and to reason analytically.• Experience in Unix/Linux administration.• Effective verbal and written communication skills and proficiency in writing technical specifications.• The ability to develop knowledge of, respect for, and skills to engage with those of other cultures or backgrounds.Additional Information:Area/College: College of Arts and Sciences (CAS)Department Name: CAS ITCity, State, Zip: Pullman, WA, 99163Department Link: https://cas.wsu.edu/casit/Monthly Salary: Range R03IT | $5,719 to $7,695 (A-M) | Successful candidates typically begin at the beginning of the salary range and receive scheduled salary increment increases in accordance with WAC 357-28.
