About IRA/HSA Services Specialist

  DescriptionThe IRA/HSA Services Specialist I is responsible to oversee the overall day-to-day operational functions of the IRA/HSA services department, and follow applicable regulations.ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:Ensure total IRA and HSA document and data integrityManage personal workload/workflowIdentify and resolve Customer Service issuesWork to obtain Certified IRA Services Professional (CISP) designation, and HSA Expert CertificationKeep current on regulation changes regarding IRA and HSA productsConduct training for branches on IRAs and HSAsProvide excellent customer and business unit support serviceMaintain knowledge of IRA and HSA banking products and servicesPerform quality control review over all new IRAs and HSAs opened and transactionsTrack missing new account documents and follow up with branchesReview each IRA plan to ensure compliance with requirementsReview and resolve exception and reject reportsProcess all direct transfers requests to other financial institutionsPerform critical account maintenance on IRAs and HSAsEvaluate records, perform due diligence and the submission for all states that require unclaimed property reportingTrack and remit customer's federal withholding to the IRSPerform quality control review for end of year tax reportingReview online account opening system for new HSAs that are pending approvalProcess initial funding and services for new HSAs opened onlineCommunicate with customers on IRA and HSA questions or issuesNotify beneficiaries of their designation and options for Inherited IRAs, and Inherited IRA beneficiaries of any RMDD requirementsCommunicate annual plan requirements to businesses as applicableMaintain appropriate departmental records and reportsEnsure total quality of work performedRecommend quality control enhancementsEnsure compliance with Northwest's policies and procedures, and Federal/State regulationsNavigate Microsoft Office Software, computer applications, and software specific to the department in order to maximize technology tools and gain efficiencyWork as part of a teamWork with on-site equipmentKNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:Ability to establish effective working relationships among team members and participate in solving problems and making decisionsAbility to present and express ideas and information clearly and concisely in a manner appropriate to the audience, whether oral or writtenAbility to actively listen to what others are saying to achieve understanding, sharing information with others and facilitating the open exchange of ideas and informationAbility to establish courses of action for self to accomplish specific goals, develop and use tracking systems for monitoring own work progress, and effectively use resources such as time and informationAbility to make right decisions based on perceptive and analytical processes, practicing good judgment in gray areasQUALIFICATIONS:To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
