This is not a remote position.Investigative Associates work on a variety of assignments, including performing public record background research relative to individuals and business entities associated with litigation matters in which our clients are named parties. We prepare comprehensive reports of our findings for our clients and strive to provide them with information that is material and beneficial to the clients’ specific cases. Additionally, we assist in a wide range of investigative projects in support of the firm’s needs. Withum’s brand is a reflection of our people, our culture, and our strength. But our commitment goes beyond our clients, as we continue to live the Withum Way, promoting personal and professional growth for all team members, clients, and surrounding communities.How you'll spend your time:Researching subjects of investigations through public record databases, including LexisNexis, to identify assets and other pertinent information, such as: associated addresses; properties owned; professional licenses; employment affiliations; criminal history; and liens & judgmentsPrepare abatement record requests in compliance with Freedom of Information Act standardsQuerying the federal court PACER system for possible bankruptcies, or criminal and civil court recordsResearching individual counties where the subject resided, for civil litigation matters naming the subjectUtilizing internet and public record websites to identify the subject’s family historyConducting conventional media searches (newspapers and magazines), through the internet and sites like Newspapers.com, for pertinent information about the subjectResearching social media for potentially relevant material concerning the subjectPreparing reports, summary emails, and other client deliverables regarding investigative findingOther private investigative functions as deemed necessary, including locating and interviewing potential witnessesThe kind of people we want to speak with have many of the following:Bachelor's degree2 to 3 years of relevant experience in research and/or investigationsStrong interest in investigations, due diligence, and complianceProficiency with LexisNexis preferredCapacity to work both independently and collaborativelyStrong, imaginative analytical and problem-solving skillsEfficient and effective verbal and written communication skillsWithum will not discriminate against any employee or applicant for employment because of race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin, age, marital status, genetic information, disability or because they are a protected veteran.
