About Investigative Analyst I

  This recruitment for Investigative Analyst I shall support the NCB INTERPOL Washington Office of General Counsel - Red Notice Unit, and other USNCB operational divisions if requested.

  Work arrangement : Hybrid

  Work schedule: M-F 40 hours. The USNCB is 24 hours a day, 7 days a week mission. The positions are hybrid with in-person required in Washington, DC. and telework.

  Work Length: Up to 12 months

  Clearance : Current Secret Clearance is required.

  Essential Duties and Responsibilities: (Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions of this position)

  Processes, prepares, edits, and performs comprehensive review of U.S. issued Red Notices (fugitive bulletins). Proofreads applications for clarity, consistency, and completeness. Ensures documents meet legal requirements. Writes, edits and prepares Red Notice drafts for legal review and approval.

  Receives and compiles data and reports on complex law enforcement matters and projects from a variety of internal and external sources, consolidating that information into useful, comprehensive materials that will ultimately be shared with other law enforcement agencies.

  Prepares written reports, summarizing the findings, status or highlights of assigned program.

  Utilizes the USNCB’s Case Management System (CMS) to search for, organize, and manage case information, which includes data entry and uploading of preliminary investigative findings.

  Transmits investigative information through international and domestic telecommunication systems to further investigative cases.

  Answers and responds to electronic mail and phone inquiries from both domestic and international law enforcement partners.

  Uses FBI’s National Crime Information Center (NCIC), CBP’s TECS, and INTERPOL’s Automated Search Facility (ASF) to perform database queries to identify, gather and organize investigative leads.

  Inspects electronic case files and various documents for accuracy and compliance.

  At the direction of program supervisors, communicates and collaborates with personnel in partner law enforcement and other agencies to resolve problems and coordinate the work; reviews, analyzes, and integrates the technical work of others.

  While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit and talk or hear.   The employee will normally work in a temperature-controlled office environment, with frequent exposure to electronic office equipment.Application Materials:

  Minimum Qualifications: (To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.)

  Some experience performing the basic tasks of this position.

  Demonstrated experience in basic fact gathering and research methodology.

  Experience with various software is essential, i.e., Microsoft Office suite, particularly Access and Excel.

  Must possess and maintain a Secret Clearance.

  Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  Excellent written and verbal communications and customer service skills. Written communication skills should be demonstrated by a writing sample.

  Ability to work independently and as a team member.

  Knowledge and skill in applying analytical and evaluation methods and techniques.

  Preferably in pursuit of a four year college degree.
