Job Description:The CV Invasive Specialist performs duties necessary forcardiac catheterization procedures at a technical and professional levelrequiring some proctoring and supervision of technical detail. The Specialistperforms a variety of technical procedures that require some independentjudgment. The CV Invasive Specialist assumes responsibility and initiative fordesignated areas and procedures as required.

　　Scope

　　Provides technical support during invasive cardiovascular procedures. Providespatientcare under the supervision of the RN.

　　Assists physicians in radiological imaging of cardiac and vascularprocedures, acts as scrub assistant, maintaining sterile conditions duringclinical procedures. Operates imaging equipment and works in the control roommonitoring and documenting procedure images and events.

　　Educates patients and families regarding the procedure and about theexpectations of the procedure. Teaches patient and family about pre and postprocedure physical conditions.

　　Assists in maintaining order and cleanliness of the unit. Maintainsappropriate stock levels for complex interventions and diagnostic procedures.

　　Completes daily, progress and discharge documentation according todepartmental standards. Accurately documents productivity information.

　　Participates in quality and patient safety initiatives. Identifies potentialareas for improvement including processes that could be streamlined or revisedto improve patient satisfaction. Identifies potential safety hazards that maycreate problems for patients and/or staff, and takes appropriate actions. .

　　Performs other duties as assigned.

　　Minimum Qualifications

　　Required

　　High School Diploma or equivalent required

　　Registered ARRT is required or Registered Cardiovascular Invasive TechnologistRCIS is required within 18 months of hire or Registered Respiratory Therapistwith CV specific certification orRCIS or RCES required

　　Current Basic Life Support for Healthcare Providers (BLS-HCP) and ACLS isrequired Surgery Technician License must be obtained within 3 months from hiredate in the State of Colorado

　　Preferred

　　Associates degree preferred

　　Two (2) years of experience in Cardiology/Cath Lab is preferred

This includes frequentcomputer use and typing for documenting patient care, accessing neededinformation, medication preparation, etc.- and -Expected to lift andutilize full range of movement to transfer patients. Will also bend toretrieve, lift, and carry supplies and equipment. Typically includes itemsof varying weights, up to and including heavy items.- and -Need to walk andassist with transporting/ambulating patients and obtaining and distributingsupplies and equipment. This includes pushing/pulling gurneys and portableequipment, including heavy item .
