LOCATION: This is a Jefferson-Lewis BOCES position with initial assignment in Jefferson County Component District.DUTIES: Provide sign to voice and voice to sign interpreting, or visible to spoken and spoken to visible interpreting and voice. Participate in meetings with other members of the educational team dealing with the development and review of the Individualized Education Plan (IEP) and progress in the classroom, as related to ability to process information. Provide interpreting for extracurricular activities and parent meetings as necessary. Assist in providing orientations to deafness and interpreting to hearing students and staff. Provide tutoring when necessary and appropriate, when interpreting is not needed, as directed by the classroom teacher. Other duties as determined with supervisor.QUALIFICATIONS: Experienced with American Sign Language and educational interpreting National Technical Institute for the Deaf (NTID) or equivalent coursework recognized by Registry of Interpreters for the Deaf (RID) preferredCOMPENSATION & BENEFITS: $20,182- $31,682. Commensurate with certification/experience in keeping withthe current negotiated agreement with the BOCES Support Staff Association.
