About Internship Quality Specialist

  JOB REQUIREMENTS: The Quality Specialist Intern position will beresponsible for performing a variety of assignments related to TCI\'sISO 9001 Quality Management System. The person selected for thisposition will work on a range of hands-on assignments includingnonconforming materials, customer returns and analysis, measuring andtest equipment calibration, auditing manufacturing and businessprocesses and products, and manufacturing process quality control. Thisopportunity will allow the person selected to gain valuable professionalexperience within an industry leading company, and contribute to TCI\'sbusiness success. Highlight of Typical Job Responsibilities Participatein Quality Management System (QMS) internal audits of manufacturing andbusiness processes and products. Perform incoming inspection audits.Perform manufacturing in-process audits. Perform finished productaudits. Perform studies of manufacturing processes for process qualitycontrol and potential improvement. Evaluate and dispositionnonconforming product ensuring the required documentation accuratelyreflects what occurred. Working with the appropriate manufacturingsupervisor, evaluate and disposition returned product. Analyze customerreturned product to understand why it was returned, determine the rootcause, and identify opportunities for improvement. Perform measuringequipment calibration and coordinate test equipment calibration and alldocumentation. Working in a manufacturing facility around windingequipment, assembly, welding, varnish dipping and baking, and electricaltesting operations. Required Competencies Must be able to read andinterpret standard engineering drawings and specifications Must be ableto use measuring equipment such as tape measure, caliper, and micrometerStrong attention to detail Strong verbal and written communicationskills Strong organizational skills Effective problem-solving skills Apositive attitude Willingness to perform \"hands-on\" work in a dynamicenvironment The ability and willingness to take independent or a teamdriven approach to complete assigned job tasks The desire to take fullownership of all assigned tasks and complete them in an efficient,thorough and timely manner Proficient in Microsoft Office softwareAdditional Desired Competencies Experience with ISO 9001 based QualityManagement Systems Basic knowledge of QRM or lean Basic Qualificationsfor Consideration Include Current enrollment at an accredited college oruniversity engineering or related program (UW-Milwaukee, UW-Madison orequivalent). Prefer a Junior or Senior pursuing a degree in Industrial,Mechanical or Manufacturing Engineering.
