　　The Holland America Summer Internship Program is a 10-week paid (remote) summer internship opportunity designed to provide exposure and insight to professional careers in the amazing leisure travel, cruise industry. The selected interns will work on departmental projects as well as participate in professional development and enrichment activities.

　　2024 Program Dates (two options)

　　Program runs 10 weeks from June 10th - August 16th or June 17th - August 23rd.Eligibility

　　Eligible candidates are enrolled in a four-year accredited undergraduate program (where they are at least a rising junior) and have a GPA of 3.0 or higher.

　　MUST NOT be a graduating senior in the summer 2024.

　　Compensation

　　Undergraduate - $25.00/hrIntern Project Details

　　This position is responsible for learning and understanding the intent, workflow, and processes of the suite of maritime systems the department manages. From this, the intern will investigate how we can utilize AI, power apps, and other technologies to improve processes and compliance for the department. The intern will also conduct feasibility studies of the systems and processes currently in place, to help identify enhancements and/or changes that may need to be made to further streamline the systems.

　　A base understanding of the suite of maritime systems – their purpose, what they are used for, the differences between each, etc.

　　Knowledge of utilizing AI, Microsoft, and other technologies to improve processes

　　Create and implement feasibility studies

　　Review feedback from fleet and shoreside SMEs

　　Create proposed solutions based on the feedback

　　Assist with implementing approved solutions

　　Requirements

　　Proficiency using MS office Suite including Outlook & MS Teams

　　Ability to work independently, remotely and self-manage

　　Well organized and able to communicate effectively with colleagues and managers.

　　The types of duties the students will perform will vary and may require some technical tasks, projects and/or work that may require specific proficiencies, technical abilities and/or computer skills.

　　Majors Preferred

　　Bachelor’s degree – rising Junior/Senior: Business, Information Technology, Maritime, Project/Program ManagementSkills Preferred

　　Advanced knowledge of Microsoft suite

　　Proficient knowledge of AI capabilities and how to utilize this for a team
