Position Overview
The International Training Manager will develop and lead training programs to enhance commercial effectiveness for the International BU addressing training needs regarding genomic testing in cancer; including, but not limited to, new hire and on-going continued education programs. These training programs will include product specific training, disease-state training, and other professional development programs. This position reports to the Director Marketing and Commercial Excellence and will collaborate cross-functionally with country organisations (Marketing and Sales), Marketing, Customer Service, Medical Affairs, Human Resources, and the Commercial Learning team in the US.
The position can be based in a European country with an Exact Sciences Office (UK, Germany, France, Italy) and requires regular travel in Europe (50%).
Essential Duties
Include, but are not limited to, the following:
Develop a training strategy for the International Business Unit in alignment with the leadership team.Lead the design, development, and delivery of standardised training programs, such as new hire, ongoing, or recurrent training, including product and disease information, key clinical data, selling skills, and territory information.Develop and support components of the sales training program related to the promotion of the Exact Sciences products (genomic testing in breast cancer) for both newly hired and experienced commercial team members.Collaborate with country organisations (Marketing and Sales) to ensure and enable effective delivery and execution of training initiatives (train-the-trainer) through both live and remote training.Collaborate with cross-functional business partners to develop and deliver learning opportunities for all departments within the organisation that require assistance to attain learning objectives.Update, maintain, and deliver new hire training including materials, as well as address the ongoing learning and development needs of the entire commercial organisation.Partner with country organisations (Marketing and Sales), Marketing, Customer Service and Medical Affairs to develop interactive and impactful workshops at International Sales Meetings.Conduct Training Needs Assessments (TNA) to identify learning and development opportunities and to design and deploy targeted programs that enhance knowledge and effectiveness through improvement of competencies.Develop digital training resources utilising the learning management system (LMS).Update job knowledge and stay current on trends through activities; including, but not limited to, participation in educational opportunities, read professional publications, maintain personal networks, and participate in professional organisations.Apply strong project management skills to aid in the organisation, planning, implementation, and execution of learning initiatives.Apply strong communication, presentation, and facilitation skills.Self-starter with results orientation.Ability to manage multiple priorities based on changing business needs.Ability to tailor training and presentation contents based on the audience.Ability to be perceived as a leader without having direct authority.Uphold company mission and values through accountability, innovation, integrity, quality, and teamwork.Support and comply with the company's Quality Management System policies and procedures.Ability to travel 50% of working time away from work location, may include overnight/weekend travel.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree in related field as outlined in the essential duties.8+ years of experience working in a pharmaceutical, or biotechnology environment.Demonstrated ability successfully to work cross-functionally with other departments and key stakeholders.Demonstrated understanding of molecular diagnostics and oncology.Demonstrated ability to distill high-level scientific information into easily understood concepts for an audience with diverse educational backgrounds and experience.Demonstrated strong understanding of adult learning principles and ability apply those principles in a medical environment.Proficient in Microsoft Office Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Outlook.Demonstrated ability to perform the Essential Duties of the position with or without accommodation.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience in a sales training and/or sales leadership role.Experience working in an oncology or diagnostic sales role responsible for the representation of leadership in a dedicated region.
