Amazon is seeking an International Tax Manager to join the US international tax team within the Worldwide Reporting and Compliance organization. This person will focus on a broad range of US and non-US international tax areas, with particular emphasis on the application of technology solutions to automate and/or streamline internal processes. As part of this role, the International Tax Manager will support a variety of business initiatives, management of certain US international tax attributes, and communication of outcomes to senior tax leadership. This role will require global coordination on projects and deliverables, collaborating with various cross-functional stakeholders throughout Amazon's finance organization.Key job responsibilities* Support the design, evaluation, and implementation of technology solutions in tax-model processes using tools such as, Python, Alteryx, QuickSight, etc.* Analyze various cross-border transactions to evaluate and understand the potential US federal income tax implications and have basic familiarity with non-US tax regimes* Maintain a broad and deep understanding of the OECD inclusive framework Pillars 1 and 2, BEPS Actions, and multilateral agreements and remain current on OECD developments in the areas of international taxation* Review business initiatives to identify relevant impacts to the worldwide tax reporting and compliance, with specific attention on developing automation to minimize incremental manual effort* Effectively communicate international tax profile to business partners and members of the tax department* Identify potential tax-technical and business risks and work with cross-functional teams to appropriately mitigate such risks* Mentorship of junior tax professionals and/or tax interns* Manage engagements with internal and external advisers in developing and implementing technology solutions* Assist with the review of US International Tax reporting and compliance obligations, as appropriate (e.g., Forms 5471, 8858, 8865, Form 1120F etc.)We are open to hiring candidates to work out of one of the following locations:Arlington, VA, USA | New York, NY, USA | Seattle, WA, USA- 5+ years of tax, finance or a related analytical field experience- Knowledge of Microsoft Office products and applications at an advanced level- Experience working in a large public accounting firm or multi-national corporate tax department- 3+ years of maintaining and operating transaction tax calculation software (e.g. Vertex) experience- Experience with VBA, Python, SQL, or other database languageOur compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $76,400/year in our lowest geographic market up to $172,900/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
