Description
We are looking for detail-oriented, organized, and responsible individuals who are eager to learn how to work with large and complicated data sets. Some knowledge of econometrics, as well as basic familiarity with Python is necessary, and experience with SQL and UNIX would be a plus.
These are full-time positions at 40 hours per week, with compensation being awarded on an hourly basis. You will learn how to build data sets and perform applied econometric analysis at Internet speed collaborating with economists, scientists, and product managers. These skills will translate well into writing applied chapters in your dissertation and provide you with work experience that may help you with placement.

Key job responsibilities
The intern will extract data, build econometric models and write technical as well as business-facing docs to solve business problems. They will collaborate with Engineers, Economists, Program Managers during the internship.
About the team
The NCRC team (Net Cost of Refunds and Concessions) finds ways to improve our Customer Initiated Return rate, Inbound and Outbound defect rate, and Recovery yield, all while improving value to the customer. We are a new team as of Q2'23. Our goal is to instigate ideation across partner teams and hone in on the biggest areas of opportunity. Our team comes from diverse career paths and collaborates to find the most impactful ways to improve our business.

Basic Qualifications
PhD student in Economics (enrolled in 3rd year or more and not currently on the job market)
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with SQL
Experience with Python/ R/ Stata
Experience working with large data sets
Knowledge of econometrics

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $49.66/hr in our lowest geographic market up to $96.63/hr in our highest geographic market.
