　　Position Overview

　　As an AI research intern for Architecture, Engineering and Construction (AEC), you will investigate the latest AI technologies to assist designers and engineers in the AEC industry to reimagine the future of building design. Over the course of the internship, you will help us lead the project forward with guidance from our team of HCI researchers, engineers, and AEC domain experts.

　　Responsibilities

　　Perform applied research to investigate potential of several AI techniques for the AEC industry, including machine learning/deep neural networks, evolutionary algorithms, optimizations, and symbolic reasoningReview relevant literature to identify emerging methods, technologies, and best practicesGather requirements and issues to explore and designDesign and implement AI algorithmsDevelop prototypes for experimental AEC applicationsValidate prototypes with data analysis or user studies

　　Minimum Qualifications

　　Full-time student pursuing an Masters or Ph.D. in a related field such as: Computer Science, Computational Design, Computer Graphics, Data Science, or Human-Computer InteractionDemonstrated expertise with peer-reviewed publications in international venuesSolid background in machine learning and statistical methodsProficient in Python and either TensorFlow or PyTorchExperience in quick prototyping and scientific research methods

　　The 2024 Canada program runs for 16 weeks (Jan 8th to April 26th for Winter Term and May 6th to August 23rd for Summer Term). As an intern, you will contribute to meaningful projects, be mentored by industry leaders, participate in tech talks and other activities designed to support your personal and professional development.
