Description:
The Intake Coordinator operates within a home infusion pharmacy and is responsible for all aspects of the authorization process of patients. This work requires the intake coordinator to collect and verify all patient information to ensure they are able to receive the right treatments and care needed. Answering phones from patients, clinics, and providers assisting with requests and referrals. Verifies benefit information from insurance company for Home Infusion, Enteral, Self-Injectable Services for adults and pediatrics.
The facility completes 60-70 delivers per day and compounds 2000 medications a week. Resulting in lots of paperwork and required attention to detail to track all of the patient information. Work alongside the outpatient board to make sure the correct medications are being covered. Knowledge of HIPPA and CPT codes will be needed for the role, will train if that is not known. Main tasks will be to make sure all files are correctly put away and that anything sent from the fax que is handled and responded too before end of day.

Additional Skills & Qualifications:
High School Diploma required
Experience from a retail pharmacy or any role as an intake coordinator working with insurances is preferred
Experience with data entry, answering phones, verification, scanning required
Must be comfortable with mutitasking
