  Nebraska Public Power District (NPPD) has an immediate opening for a Instructional Technologist located at Cooper Nuclear Station in Brownville , Nebraska. Position closes on 02/01/2024 at 11:59 p.m. Central Time.

  This position will report to the Maintenance and Training Superintendent.

  Position Summary

  Assist the technical experts in the Training Department with instructional techniques, adult learning methods, training processes, and the systematic approach to training.

  Education, Training and Experience

  Master's Degree in Education or B.S. Degree in science, engineering, or education with prior experience in operations, maintenance, engineering, or technical services (or equivalent) at a commercial nuclear power plant, or equivalent work experience.

  At least 3 years prior training experience as an instructor or program coordinator (or equivalent subject matter expert experience). Desired: 10+ years nuclear industry experience. Experience leading training assessments and writing assessment reports including accreditation self-evaluation reports desired.

  Incumbent must have excellent verbal and written communication skills, and proven ability to present dynamic training in a variety of settings. Incumbent must be proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint and must have the skills and knowledge to administer accredited and non-accredited training programs, and the ability to quickly learn new computer skills and software applications.

  Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  The incumbent provides coaching, instruction, mentoring, and oversight of the CNS training staff in the implementation of the systematic approach to training process.

  The incumbent reviews training materials developed by other instructors to ensure it is instructionally sound, interesting, and engaging for the students, meets quality standards, and adheres to applicable regulations.

  The incumbent functions as program administrator for the site's Instructor Training program.

  Coordinates and participates in training self-assessments at host site and other nuclear plants. Participates in developing accreditation self-evaluation reports, which includes substantial writing and editing work of others.

  Provides training expertise on fleet standardization and technology projects.

  Acts as site lead in the development of the Accreditation Self-Evaluation Report (ASER) and interfaces with INPO during accreditation team visits, when on site and during sequester week.

  Salary Information - Nebraska Public Power District offers a competitive starting salary with opportunities for growth.

  Pay Grade - 14 Monthly

  Typical Pay Grade Starting Salary Range: $7,520.00 - $9,589.00

  Travel Required: Up to 25% (With no or minimal overnight stays, less than 3 per month, typically within state of Nebraska) Travel required may fluctuate by business need. This is an estimate and will be discussed further with candidates that receive an interview.
