Summary of Position
The Instructional Specialist is responsible for supporting High Dosage Tutors in providing best practice learning experiences to K12 students. High Dosage Tutoring consists of small group, school day tutoring, on a regular cadence with the same tutor.
Major Responsibilities:
Creates, coordinates, and provides ongoing professional development opportunities to communicate district, school, and teacher objectives. Participates in the recruitment and interviewing of High-Dosage Tutoring candidates. Develops and delivers High-Dosage Tutor new hire training in collaboration with Training Content Managers. Meets with High-Dosage Tutors to assist with curriculum alignment, instructional strategies, and data analysis. Assists High-Dosage Tutors with using district and school assessment data to plan instruction. Develops a feedback and evaluation system with measurable objectives to ensure High-Dosage Tutors are meeting the schools needs. Provides support to High-Dosage tutors in the online classroom through coaching and mentoring. Creates positive relationships with High-Dosage Tutors, teachers, and administrators. Helps schools interpret the results of the High-Dosage Tutoring program. Provides feedback to High-Dosage Tutors regarding classroom tutoring session observations. Stays abreast of national and state curriculum standards, current trends, and issues of assigned content area and best practice. Works to develop and identify curriculum meeting the needs of High-Dosage students and clients.
Education, Background, Experience & Qualifications:
Must have at least 3-5 years as a K12 classroom teacher; Preference given to former math or ELA teachers. Experience coaching or training K12 teachers or tutors. Innovative, creative, and excited to support a program in a phase of rapid growth. Highly engaged, motivated, and driven to solve problems, recommend changes, and take on additional responsibilities. Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail as demonstrated by efficient time management to ensure all deadlines are met with high quality. Able to work well in a team environment and to motivate and support team members. Self-directed as demonstrated by the ability to work independently as needed. Solid understanding of teaching/tutoring and learning in an online environment. Masters degree preferred; minimum bachelors degree required. All candidates must be US residents and legally eligible to work in the US. High-speed internet access required. Willing to travel up to 10%. Salary: $65, 000 - $70, 000 per year, based on a 40 hour work week.
