The Biological Sciences Collegiate Division at the University of Chicagois accepting applications for an open rank Instructional Professorposition in physiology. This is a full-time teaching position beginningon or after September 1, 2023. The appointment will be for an initialterm of at least two years with reappointment and progression possiblefollowing review.
Responsibilities include teaching 6 undergraduate physiology and generalbiological science courses or lab course equivalents. Some coursesinclude both lecture and lab components, and some are taught inpartnership with university faculty. Therefore, the InstructionalProfessor must be able to teach a course independently and to functionwell as a member of a teaching team in both a lecture and laboratoryteaching setting. Additional duties include hiring, training, andsupervising teaching assistants. Instructional Professors of all ranksare required to engage in regular professional development.
Qualifications
Applicants must have a PhD in Biology or related field prior to startdate, at least one year of teaching university level lecture and/orlaboratory courses, and an excellent foundation in animal physiology.
