Job Description Summary
The successful candidate will join a collaborative and cohesive group ofphysicians working within the Shirley Ryan AbilityLab Brain InnovationCenter. These physicians include specialists in Brain Injury, Stroke,Brain Tumors and Neurodegenerative conditions. Clinical responsibilitiesinclude an inpatient census of10-13 patients and two half day clinicsper week. The patient population is expected to be predominantly strokebut include other brain neuro-rehabilitation diagnoses. Outpatientclinics will include new patient evaluations with neurologic diagnoses,inpatient follow-ups and spasticity management, if desired.
Job Description
The successful candidate will become a member of the medical staff witha faculty appointment in the Department of Physical Medicine andRehabilitation at Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine.In this role they will participate in the education and training of"core Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation Residents potentially oninpatient and outpatient rotations and in their didactic curriculum. TheShirley Ryan AbilityLab has a well-established structure to supportresearch and scholarly activity which is strongly encouraged.

Collaborates with leaders and staff in other Institute Programs tofacilitate achievement of overall Institute goals.Serves as a practicing physician and provides medical leadership tothe interdisciplinary team.In the role of a practicing Physician, ensures the appropriatenessand effectiveness of the treatment plan. Oversees and coordinatesthe involvement of physicians, nursing and allied health staff toresolve complex medical problems.Actively participates in assigned medical staff committees includingproviding leadership by functioning as chairperson as appropriate.Perform all other duties that may be assigned in the best interestof the Shirley Ryan AbilityLab.Reporting Relationships
Reports directly to the Program Medical Director or the Chief MedicalOfficer as appropriate
Knowledge, Skills Abilities Required
Licensed to practice medicine in the State of Illinois.Successful completion of a residency program in physical medicineand rehabilitation and is Board certified or Board Eligible.Faculty appointment at Northwestern University Medical School.Excellent communications and interdisciplinary skills required,including proven ability to communicate effectively with patients,families, referring parties, SRAlab and other internal and externalstakeholders.Working Conditions
Normal office environment with little or no exposure to dust or extremetemperature.
