　　POSITION SUMMARY

　　Since the doors opened in 1972, this factory has grown dramatically into a sustainable state-of-the-art facility. In 2013, we completed our largest solar project yet by installing a 450-kilowatt photovoltaic system of nearly 1,900 panels. The amount of energy produced annually by this solar array could power nearly 52 average-sized homes, or approximately 5,000 lights bulbs for an entire year. With sustainability and safety always top of mind, our Atlanta factory proudly and passionately produces 460,000 tons a year of our dry pet food brands, including Alpo®, Beneful®, Cat Chow®, Dog Chow®, Fit & Trim®, Friskies®, Nestlé Purina ONE® and Pro Plan®. This plant location is just along the southern crescent of Metro Atlanta – an area that nearly 5 million residents and over 340 of our associates can call home. Atlanta is considered the major commercial and financial center of the Southeast and, if this beautiful city were a country, it would be the 28th largest economy in the world.

　　As the Ingredient Specialist, you are responsible for accurately sampling inbound grain, soft stock, liquid, frozen, and sacked ingredients arriving in bulk trucks, railcars, tankers, and trailers. Your skills in performing physical and chemical evaluations of ingredient samples to ensure compliance with food safety, regulatory, and quality specifications will make you a key collaborator when communicating all quality results plus recommend corrections to production personnel.

　　Responsible for accurately sampling inbound grain, soft stock, liquid, frozen, and sacked ingredients arriving in bulk trucks, railcars, tankers, and trailers.

　　Perform physical and chemical evaluations of ingredient samples to ensure compliance with food safety, regulatory, and quality specifications.

　　First line of defense, detailed oriented, able to think on their feet and prioritize their tasks.

　　Navigate the rail cars, maneuvering between rails; carry product, occasionally up to 75 pounds, from one rail car to another.

　　Complete sampling methods as defined by quality and safety procedures including working at heights, wearing required fall protection for railcar or truck sampling, etc.

　　High School Diploma or GED equivalent with 1+ years’ experience working in a quality, food manufacturing, food safety, or related fieldThe approximate pay range for this position is $48,225. Please note that the pay provided is a good faith estimate for the position at the time of posting. Final compensation may vary based on factors including, but not limited to knowledge, skills, and abilities as well as geographic location.
