  Summary Marine Corps Community Services (MCCS) is looking for the best and brightest to join our Team! Responsibilities Assist applications software lead in web app development role that is focused on delivering sophisticated, data driven web applications that solve complex, real-world business unit requirements. Collaborate with the application development Lead to assist with implementing required code changes to the SharePoint site. Versed in fundamental SQL concepts and syntax, including table creation and maintenance, the development of functions, stored procedures, and triggers, and the creation / maintenance of SQL jobs that perform scheduled data manipulation routines. The Assist applications software lead in development of complex SQL reports and dashboards to drive business intelligence around company data is another core responsibility of the role. Maintain source code in our version control system, as well as any project specific portals that are used by customers to collaborate on the project, including the use of bug and issue tracking, with either pre-released solutions, or current in-the-field solutions. Develop and deliver project metric reports, including bugs per line of code, burn-down, and other typical coding metric reports as directed. Assist in developing solutions using various Agile software development methodologies, primarily feature driven development (FDD.) Role includes responsibilities of delivering required project and solution design documentation in accordance with FDD, and working with customers to capture, define and document requirements as well as the development of robust test cases to verify solution and to increase coverage on all code paths. Scheduling customer focused meetings to discuss development status is within the scope of this position. Formal project close out actions, including transfers of information in the form of end-user training presentations, when required, are also a responsibility. Proactively perform and participate in peer code reviews and analysis. Maintain legacy code and applications as directed. Provides World Class Customer Service with an emphasis on courtesy. Assists customers and communicates positively in a friendly manner. Acknowledges customers, smiles, and makes eye contact. Asks questions to determine, verify and solve problems. Checks for satisfaction on the quality of goods and services. Takes action to solve problems quickly. Alerts the higher-level supervisor, or proper point of contact for help when problems arise. Adheres to safety regulations and standards and observes safe work procedures. Uses required safety equipment and observes safe work procedures. Promptly reports any observed workplace hazards, and any injury, occupational illness, and/or property damage resulting from workplace mishaps to the immediate supervisor. Adheres to established standards of actively supporting the principles of the EEO program and prevention of sexual harassment. Performs other related duties and tasks as assigned. Requirements Conditions of Employment See Duties and Qualifications EVALUATIONS: Qualifications 2 years experience in real world ASP.NET web and MS SQL database application development ' experience in non-ASP.NET and non-MS SQL Server environments WILL be considered for this position. Experience or a solid understanding of ASP.NET web development paradigms ' web forms, MVC, SharePoint, Win forms, and Visual Studio. Experience building business intelligence with current RDBMS systems and SQL syntax. Preference for T-SQL and MS SQL Server will be given. Fluency in current web standards and web design as it relates to the semantic web. Must be able to obtain the CompTIA Security+ certification, or equivalent, within 12 months of hire. Ability to communicate effectively in English, both orally and in writing. QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS: Microsoft Office SharePoint Server (MOSS) development skills to include custom web parts, list customizations and experience with business data catalog implementations, are highly desirable. A solid understanding of web development security vulnerabilities such as but not limited to injection attacks and cross-site scripting attacks (XSS). Knowledge of how to carry out these kinds of attacks (and thus defend against them) is highly desirable. Knowledge of Agile software development methodologies. Knowledge of Feature Driven Development (FDD) is highly desirable. This activity is a Drug-free workplace.
