Summary This position is located in the Small Business Administration, Office of the Chief Information Officer in Washington D.C. This IT Specialist has responsibility for contracting officer's representative (COR) duties for information technology (IT) contract management, IT program and project management and automation/machine learning. Responsibilities This position is ONLY open to surplus and displaced Small Business Administration employees eligible for the Career Transition Assistance Program (CTAP); displaced Federal employees in the local commuting area eligible for the Interagency Career Transition Assistance Program (ICTAP); and VEOA eligibles. To be eligible for CTAP or ICTAP consideration, you may only apply for a position that is at or below the grade level, and does not have greater promotion potential, of the position from which you are being (or have been) separated. This is a term appointment not to exceed 13 months. Term appointments are non-status, nonpermanent appointments of limited duration of more than 1 year, but not more than 4 years, and are subject to a 1 year trial period. Should the need warrant, term appointments may be extended, without further competition, to a maximum of the 4 year limitation. The agency, at its discretion, may extend an appointment up to 4 additional years. Responsibility for contracting officer's representative (COR) duties for information technology (IT) contract management, IT program and project management and automation/machine learning. Program management & customer support of IT related service projects. Conducts studies to identify new areas for automated data processing. Serves as the IT program management Subject Matter Expert (SME) for cross-division IT projects to improve efficiency and effectiveness of program management. Serves as the liaison to other divisions within SBA that advises on computer requirements, user needs, and storage data for OCIO application systems. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications GS-12 Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience, equivalent to the GS-11 grade level in the Federal Service, obtained in either the private or public sector: managing projects; monitoring and tracking computer outages; creating and updating status reports; updating personnel on system outages, contract, and project status.
