Responsibilities
The Information Systems Security Officer (ISSO) will work on DefensiveCyber Operations for Space (DCO-S) providing expertise and support innetwork security engineering and/or integration of security products. Thisis a fast-paced and highly challenging position where you will be a member ofa team. The ISSO is responsible for ensuring the appropriate operationalsecurity posture is maintained for the assigned IT. This includes thefollowing activities related to maintaining situational awareness andinitiating actions to improve or restore cybersecurity posture. The ISSO:Implements and enforce all AF cybersecurity policies, procedures, andcountermeasures.Completes and maintains required cybersecurity certification IAW AFMAN 17-1303Individuals in this position must be U.S. citizens.Ensures all users have the requisite security clearances and need-to-know,complete annual cybersecurity training, and are aware of theirresponsibilities before being granted access to the IT according to AFMAN17-13Maintains all authorized user access control documentation IAW the applicableAF Records Information Management System.Ensures software, hardware, and firmware complies with appropriatesecurity configuration guidelines (e.g., security technical implementationguides /security requirement guides).Ensures proper configuration management procedures are followed prior toimplementation and contingent upon necessary approval.Coordinate changes or modifications with the system-level ISSM, SCA,and/or the Wing Cybersecurity office.Initiates protective or corrective measures, in coordination with theISSM, when a security incident or vulnerability is discovered.Reports security incidents or vulnerabilities to the system-level ISSM andwing cybersecurity office according to AFI 17-203, Cyber Incident Handling.Initiates exceptions, deviations, or waivers to cybersecurity requirement.Local area travel: 10%
Education/Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Security,Engineering, Mathematics or a related technical field is desired.Top Secret/SCI clearance required.Minimum of 2 years planning, designing, developing, integrating,testing and/or deploying secure information technology.Sec+ desired, ability to obtain within 6 weeks.Experience working with DoD and/or Intelligence Community (IC) spacesystem acquisition programs.Understanding of Risk Management Framework (RMF) and DoD / ICcybersecurity requirements, policies and best practices.Experience with IT Security including requirements, architecture and design.For this role, the targeted compensation range for candidates in Colorado is($71K-110K). Note: Starting pay will be based on a number of factorsand commensurate with qualifications & experience.
