Job Description

Exciting Opportunity at MSK: Infection Preventionist

Role Overview:

Be responsible for preventing and controlling the spread of healthcare-associated infections at MSK.

Surveillance activity includes infection outcome and process measures for both the inpatient and outpatient settings.

Collect and analyze data, investigate outbreaks, observe practices, participate in patient rounds, perform education, and design and lead interventions to improve infection control across the medical center.

Address infection prevention issues within the medical center as well as those in the community that impacts patients.

Help to set infection prevention policies and serves as a resource to administrators, physicians, staff, and the community regarding infection prevention practices.

Key Qualifications:

Conduct environment of care rounds and other site visits as needed

Core Skills:

3-4 years’ work experience in an Infection Prevention and Control setting; experience working in an ambulatory care setting is a plus

Work on call (weekends) as needed

Coverage of perioperative areas may require flexibility in work schedule

Certification in Infection Control preferred

Additional Information:

Location: Across all MSK Locations (Transportation Provided)

Schedule: 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM EST, Monday with Friday with on-call weekend shift as needed

Reporting to: Manager, Infection Control

Pay Range: $98,500.00-$157,600.00
