KAMTEK is a premierTier 1, automotive manufacturing supplier that specializes inClass “A” Stamping, Assembly and High Pressure Die Casting that produces Body-side and Door Openings, Roofs, Floor Pans, Wheelhouses, Large Welded Assemblies, Doors, Fenders, Hoods, Lift-gates, Aluminum Shock Towers, and Aluminum Rear Rails. About the Role
Provides industrial engineering consultation in support of operational and productivity improvements. The Assembly Industrial Engineer works on compliance and Continual Improvement projects as it relates to Safety, Quality, Efficiency and Cost. Implements Continual Improvement projects, leads teams in Ergonomics and Safety processes as well as improves Work, Walk and Wait opportunities. Coordinates and plans flow improvements in material storage areas and streamlining all Non-Value Add activities. Maintains and drives Continual Improvement activities for Assembly department with focus on Up-Front engineering design and day to day Lean Manufacturing process improvements. Utilizes latest in technology and Best Practices to achieve World Class operating production systems.
Your Responsibilities
Maintain an accurate Assembly capacity planning model via. Cycle times for all cells.
Develop and administer a plant layout process, built around Lean Manufacturing principles, that optimizes material handling (to include material flow and storage requirements) and maintain associated drawings and documentation.
Maintain database. Recommend, help to implement and lead Continuous Improvement ideas for Assembly Department.
Apply time and motion study techniques i.e. Work, Walk, Wait
Apply Operations Research methods to create operational optimization models.
Ergonomics champion for Assembly. Work with Engineering and HR to design out potential ergo and safety issues. Use of Jacks software in design of safe equipment.
Internal Auditor for the Assembly Joint Health, Safety and Environmental Audits.
Internal Auditor for the Assembly TS16949/ISO9001 Audits.
Who we are looking for
KNOWLEDGE
BS Engineering, Industrial Engineering preferred.
WORK EXPERIENCE WHAT TYPES? Automotive, or similar, Industrial Engineering experience with new program launches HOW MUCH? Minimum of 5-10 years
Your preferred qualifications
•Ability to achieve results using Industrial Engineering methods, Lean Manufacturing/TPS tools, and Six Sigma analysis.
•Understanding of production scheduling and inventory control
•Strong problem solving skills.
•Strong math skills and understanding of statistics.
•Ability to develop and maintain working models of computer-based evaluation tools.
•Proficient in AutoCAD 13 or higher.
•Advanced level of ability in MS Excel including the use of macros and other high level functions within Excel.
•Must be a self-starter, open minded and a team player.
•Basic understanding of 8D, FMEA, APQP and SPC.
•Basic understanding of standardized work and kaizen activity.
