This individual would be responsible for preparing the ASC 740Income Tax provision and the consolidated 1120 corporate income taxreturn. The incumbent will provide quality customer service and taxadvice to other departments and operating divisions.
The individual will work in the West Rutland, Vermont office.

Key Responsibilities
Collaborates with the internal tax team to prepare the U.S. Federalconsolidated corporation income tax return.
Researches and analyzes the impact of new legislative developments andprepares technical memoranda to provide updates to the organization asrequired.
Understands and analyzes complex data sets from a large corporate groupincluding numerous subunits and operating divisions to provideinformation for tax calculations.
Gathers necessary information and assists with the preparation ofquarterly and annual ASC 740 tax provisions for Casella.
Contributes to tax modeling for business development and acquisitions,including tax due diligence.
Acts as a tax advisor to the business, responding to various tax relatedrequests and taking a client service approach to handling such requests.
Collaborates with external tax consultants on tax compliance, provision,and other tax matters. compliance and other tax requirements as needed.
Supports technology implementations, overall process improvements, andother efforts to increase the efficiency of the income tax complianceand provision function.
Participates in training and other learning opportunities to expandknowledge of tax matters, the company, and its products and services.
Education, Experience & Qualifications
The successful candidate will be a self-starter with a strong workethic, have an Associates Degree in Accounting or a Finance/Businessrelated degree and 3 to 6 years of experience in an accounting or taxrole. The incumbent must have a demonstrated ability to work in acollaborative team-based environment. Knowledge of ASC 740 and OneSource Tax Provision a plus.
A solid understanding of general accounting rules, detail-oriented andstrong organizing skills, strong follow through skills, and an abilityto multi-task and meet consistent deadlines are required. Excellentlistening and communication skills, an ability to adapt to change and beadept at identifying issues and formulating solutions are necessary.Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and a customer service approach toworking with internal departments and outside customers are expected.
Although not required, a Bachelors Degree in Accounting or otherFinance/Business related degree is preferred.
